Job summary

State Government of Victoria is seeking a practical Forest and Fire Operations Officer – Team Leader to join our Rosebud team. You will lead field crews in remote bushland, manage forest operations and support planned burning and bushfire response activities in the region.

Applicants must hold a current manual Drivers Licence and be prepared to undertake required pre-employment checks and accreditation. This is a hands-on, frontline leadership role with safety and community impact.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field delivery teams in natural resource projects.
• Good understanding of forest operations and management.
• Ability to achieve Crew Leader/Operations Officer Level 1 accreditation.
• Desirable experience in bushfire response or forest operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead planned burning and bushfire response activities.
• Oversee forest management tasks and roading work.
• Direct crews in remote bushland settings and ensure safety.
• Complete pre-employment screening and written declarations as required.
