Job summary

Metso is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Service Operations Support team in Mackay. This hands-on role combines mechanical field work with technical problem solving and customer liaison between clients, product divisions and sales teams.

You will perform inspections, provide mechanical service in the field, read drawings and schematics, and coordinate field projects while maintaining safety and quality standards. Occasional travel and the ability to pass medical are required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification or 3–6 years relevant experience.
• Ability to read mechanical schematics.
• Must be physically fit and able to pass medical.
• Current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete field machine inspections.
• Provide hands-on mechanical service in the field.
• Serve as technical liaison between customers, product divisions and sales.
• Perform evaluations and analyze equipment failures.
• Read drawings and schematics to follow processes.
• Oversee field service projects at customer sites.
• Travel interstate and internationally as needed.
