Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Australia is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to service, repair and maintain our range of compressors at customer sites across NSW.

You will provide after-hours call-out support, conduct overnight field visits, train colleagues, ensure safety and compliance, complete all documentation, and pass sales leads to the sales team to help grow our Service Business.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of compressors or similar equipment.
• Ability to converse and communicate technical and product information to customers.
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Organised self-starter.
• Trade qualifications Cert III – Fitter and Turner with a minimum of 5 years maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours call-out assistance and call-back availability when rostered on duty.
• Conduct overnight field trips to service breakdowns, maintenance and customer support.
• Promote and sign up medium to long-term customers under the Air Cover preventive maintenance plans.
• Provide customer support (internal and external) for assigned equipment.
• Complete all documentation and administrative requirements.
• Pass sales leads onto sales staff.
• Achieve weekly and monthly productivity targets.
• Ensure company owned equipment and premises are kept clean, presentable and serviceable.
• Train, support, coach and mentor new and existing colleagues.
• Install, repair and maintain the range of compressors.
• Contribute to the coordination, support and day-to-day running of the GD Service Business Team.
• In the event of a breakdown, test equipment/systems and carry out fault-finding and repairs.
• Carry out technical preventive maintenance and general service work.
• Ensure that servicing sites are left clean and tidy.
• Conduct risk assessment and ensure the working environment is safe at all times.
• Maintain safety compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
• Eliminate risks in the working environment through housekeeping and collaboration with the customer’s line manager.
• Promote and support reporting of incidents such as near-miss, accidents or equipment damage using the reporting system.
• Participate and conduct safety audits for assigned areas.
• Submit risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis within 48 hours of completion.
• Submit timesheets daily of hours worked, work conducted, location and job number.
