Job summary

KW Automation is seeking a Field Service Technician who thrives on travel and client engagement. You will visit client sites to install, commission, service and repair our specialized automation machinery, while building lasting relationships and ensuring operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade qualification is required.
• Experience servicing and diagnosing automation equipment.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics is essential.
• Basic electrical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
• Hands-on experience with programmable machinery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites to install, commission, service and repair automation machinery.
• Advise customers to minimize downtime and protect their business interests.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and control faults quickly and accurately.
• Identify upgrade or replacement opportunities during on-site visits and qualify leads for sales bonuses.
• Maintain readiness for regional travel to meet clients.

We are seeking a passionate, customer-centric Field Service Technician who loves to travel, meet new people, and explore different regions. Base Salary: $100,000 per annum + superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

• On-Site Service & Support: Travel to client sites to install, commission, service, and repair our specialized automation machinery.
• Customer Advocacy: Act with the customer's best interests at heart, providing honest advice and minimizing their downtime.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and automation faults efficiently.
• Lead Generation: Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or new machinery while on-site, earning bonuses when these leads convert to sales.
• Travel Flexibility: Undertake regional travel to visit clients.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Mechanical trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter or equivalent trade certificate).
• Strong hands-on capability in equipment servicing and diagnostics.
• Solid working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Base-level electrical knowledge (fault-finding and reading schematics).
• Practical experience working with automation systems or programmable machinery.
