Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Field Service Technician to support the commissioning, service and lifecycle performance of advanced power electronics systems. You will lead on-site activities, provide technical guidance, and ensure safe, reliable delivery across industrial, energy and marine environments with extensive travel (90%+).

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Electrician or degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics, electrical circuits and MV/LV systems with hands-on skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment and field troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for assignments.
• Understanding of Health & Safety requirements for industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-commissioning, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of SFCs, VFDs, drives, switchgear and power systems.
• Provide on-site guidance and supervision to customers during installation and service activities.
• Analyze operational data and instruct customers and site personnel.
• Submit accurate reports on safety, project and service status, and equipment issues.
• Complete site documentation including safety reports and commissioning records.
• Interface with customers, contractors, colleagues and management clearly and professionally.
