Virtue Recruitment partners with a global provider of clinical diagnostic and laboratory technology in Sydney NSW to hire an experienced Field Service Engineer. You will service, maintain, install and troubleshoot IVD equipment across hospital and pathology labs.

This clinical field service role requires managing customer requirements, responding to urgent faults, and occasional regional travel with an on-call roster roughly every six weeks.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Automation or Instrumentation.
• Field service experience with IVD/clinical diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with haematology, chemistry or immunology systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working in hospitals or pathology laboratories.
• Willingness to travel regionally and interstate when required.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance and calibration.
• Install and commission new equipment.

They have an established engineering team in Sydney and provide strong technical support, spare parts and ongoing product training.

The Role

My client is looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support hospital and pathology laboratory customers across Sydney.

This is a clinical field service role focused on IVD and diagnostic equipment. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, installing and troubleshooting equipment while managing customer requirements and urgent breakdowns.

Most customers are located across metropolitan Sydney, with occasional regional and interstate travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Service and maintain clinical diagnostic and IVD equipment

About You

• Must have an Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Automation, Instrumentation Engineering or similar
• Field service experience with IVD, clinical diagnostic or pathology equipment

• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
• Experience working within hospitals or pathology laboratories
• Able to independently manage breakdowns and service calls
• Understand the urgency of equipment failures within busy clinical laboratories
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable participating in an on-call roster
• Willing to undertake occasional travel and product training
