Job summary

BetterGROW Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated Field Operator for the Orange region to execute land application services, including spreading biosolids and compost and injecting waste liquids for reuse.

The role is outdoor and physically active, using modern agricultural equipment. Applicants must pass a pre-employment medical, and strong teamwork and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in agriculture, forestry, or similar outdoor environments.
• Experience operating agricultural machinery is highly desirable.
• Strong safety awareness and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Mechanical aptitude is an advantage for maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors, spreaders, and loaders to apply organic products.
• Assist with delivery, handling, and application of biosolids and compost.
• Support field operations according to daily plans and schedules.
• Perform basic maintenance and pre-start checks on machinery and equipment.
• Follow environmental and regulatory requirements during operations.

Job description

BetterGROW offers a range of practical solutions for a variety of organic, composted and processed recycled products suitable for beneficial re-use across agriculture, forestry and industry.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Field Operator to join the BetterGROW Land Application team based in Orange. Reporting to the Field Supervisor, you will play a key hands-on role in delivering land application services, including the spreading of biosolids and compost, and the injection of waste liquids for beneficial reuse.

This is an outdoor, physically active role working with modern agricultural equipment, where safety, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Operating agricultural machinery such as tractors, spreaders, and loaders
• Assisting with the delivery, handling, and application of organic products
• Supporting field operations in line with daily plans and schedules
• Conducting basic maintenance and pre-start checks on machinery and equipment
• Following environmental and regulatory requirements during all operations

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

• A strong work ethic and hands-on approach
• Experience in agriculture, forestry, or a similar outdoor environment (desirable)
• Experience operating agricultural machinery (highly desirable)
• Mechanical aptitude (an advantage)
• Familiarity with GPS-guided equipment or precision agriculture (an advantage)
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Basic computer and record-keeping skills
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety practices

As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination, including functional, audiometric, and drug and alcohol testing.
