Job summary

Icon Metal is seeking a Field Operations Manager to join our Sydney team. This full-time role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution of field operations across construction projects.

You will oversee day-to-day on-site activities, uphold HSE standards, and drive on-time, on-budget project delivery. With at least 5 years in field operations management, you will lead site teams, manage risks, and engage clients and regulators, while optimizing resources and budget performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in field operations management in construction.
• HSE expertise and knowledge of applicable legislation.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Relevant construction industry qualifications.
• Proven track record of managing projects end-to-end.
• Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Proficient with project management software and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with rigging, cranes, and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field operations and coordinate daily site activity to meet schedules and quality.
• Implement and maintain HSE policies across sites.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and audits for compliance.
• Lead site teams with training and performance management.
• Manage incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulators for communications.
• Monitor budgets, resources, and project expenditures.
• Deliver toolbox talks and HSE training to site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with construction standards and safety legislation.
• Report operational metrics and progress to senior management.
