National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunities for two Field Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and aboriginal heritage.
The Field Officer 1-4 role undertakes a broad range of operational field duties including asset construction and maintenance, feral animal and weed control, fire management, plant and equipment operation, and visitor services. The role contributes to the protection of natural and cultural heritage values of parks. Duties are performed in accordance with NPWS procedures and safety requirements to ensure that the public has access to appropriately maintained recreational environments.
This is a physically active role suited to candidates of all genders who are fit, enjoy working outdoors as part of a team, and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining some of NSW’s most precious natural places.
This role involves working on a rotating roster and you will be required to work on weekends and public holidays.
Your passion for your community and environment, coupled with a strong attention to detail and safety will be key to your success in this role. You'll be a strong decision‑maker with the ability to lead operations at times and solve problems in the field. You’ll enjoy working as part of a team but be able to work alone or with minimal supervision. Your fitness and enthusiasm will enable you to thrive and succeed in this diverse and dynamic role.
You will often be travelling and working in remote locations and will need to solve problems without external assistance. You will work closely with other members of the team and may be required to lead projects.
