Job summary

AusNet is seeking a Field Metering Technician to install, test, audit and rectify metering installations across Victoria. The role reports to the Field Metering Manager within the Asset Services / Contestable Metering team and involves regular travel across the region.

You'll have an A Grade Electrical Licence, a valid driver's licence, and experience with LV metering, testing and maintenance. Strong fault-finding, autonomous work, and good communication with customers and stakeholders are

• Experience with LV metering, testing, service or maintenance is preferred.
• Metering experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, audit and rectify WC, CT and HV metering installations and communication devices where qualified.
• Plan and complete field service orders across domestic and commercial sites, meeting safety, quality and customer requirements.
• Identify and report non-compliance, faults and opportunities for technical or corrective improvement.
• Complete job close outs, timesheets and field records accurately using mobile and digital systems.

We have an opportunity for a Field Metering Technician to install, test, investigate, audit and rectify electricity metering installations across Victoria.

Reporting to the Field Metering Manager, this role sits in our Mondo business and will support Melbourne's Eastern Metropolitan region and forms part of the Asset Services / Contestable Metering team.

What you'll help deliver

• Install, test, audit and rectify WC, CT and, where qualified, HV metering installations and communication devices.
• Plan and complete field service orders across domestic and commercial sites, meeting safety, quality and customer requirements.
• Identify and report non-compliance, faults and opportunities for technical or corrective improvement.
• Complete job close outs, timesheets and field records accurately using mobile and digital systems.

You don't need to check every box, however we're looking for a good combination of:

• A current A Grade Electrical Licence and driver's licence, with a strong commitment to safe work, are mandatory.
• Experience in LV electrical work, electricity metering, testing, service or maintenance. Previous metering experience would be highly regarded.
• Strong fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills along with the ability to work autonomously, organise travel and priorities, meet due dates and complete administration reliably.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, site contacts and internal stakeholders.
• A practical, adaptable and collaborative approach, with the confidence to learn new systems, procedures and technology.

This is a field based role with regular travel across Victoria, occasional overnight stays and possible interstate travel.
