Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Field Engineering Specialist to provide project field engineering, planning, and packaging expertise for the Spence CPY copper project. You will manage material quantities, safety/quality controls, and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure reliable field execution.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 6+ years of relevant experience (12+ without a degree), and familiarity with Bechtel processes and the copper mining sector.

Qualifications

• > Requires bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years without a degree.
• > Experience in the copper mining industry and supervisory experience within Mechanical Piping.
• > Previous Bechtel experience and knowledge of Bechtel Standard Processes and BSAPs.

Responsibilities

• Work Planning & Packaging: Preparing construction drawings and schedules; design of temporary construction facilities and managing "as built" drawings.
• Material Management: Initiating field requisitions and preparing quantity takeoffs for field purchases.
• Quantities: Verifying commodities in quantity tracking systems.
• Safety / Quality Control: Ensuring zero-accident philosophy and safety for craft and operations.
• Technical: Proactively pursuing learning activities.
• System Turnover Coordinator: Developing understanding of system scope and reviewing inspection test plans; coordinating subcontractor submittals.
