Job summary

Brunel is seeking a field-focused Geologist to support drilling programmes and collect high-quality geological data for resource definition and project development. This role is primarily field-based, emphasizing logging, sampling, QA/QC and drilling support, reporting to the Senior Resource Geologist.

You will conduct detailed log of diamond core, maintain records, assist with interpretation and data analysis, and liaise with drilling contractors in a FIFO-enabled roster in Australia.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline.
• Strong practical experience in diamond core logging.
• Experience working on diamond drilling programmes.
• Ability to independently log and interpret diamond drill core.
• Experience with geological sampling and QA/QC procedures.
• Background in mining, exploration or resource development environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
• Current manual driver's licence.
• Ability to work on a FIFO roster.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological logging of diamond drill core.
• Identify and record lithology, alteration, mineralisation, veining and geological structures.
• Maintain accurate geological records and databases.
• Support geological interpretation and resource development activities.
• Collect and validate geological, geotechnical, metallurgical and density datasets.
• Assist with RC logging activities where required.
• Undertake geological sampling associated with drilling programmes.
• Ensure sample intervals and geological boundaries are correctly identified and recorded.
• Support the safe and efficient execution of diamond drilling programmes.
• Liaise with drilling contractors and field personnel.
• Assist with drill programme coordination and scheduling.
• Support collection of downhole geophysical and drilling-related data.
• Assist with resolving geological and operational issues encountered during drilling.
• Support geological interpretation, data analysis and technical studies.
