Job summary

AECOM seeks an Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer to join the Melbourne GET Team. You will conduct geotechnical investigations on client sites, supervise drilling, and contribute to design inputs across infrastructure projects in Australia and beyond.

The role emphasises fieldwork, data interpretation, and technical reporting, with opportunities to travel and develop expertise within a collaborative, multidisciplinary group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or geological equivalent.
• 1–4 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology.
• Willingness to undertake regular fieldwork with extensive travel.
• Competence in planning and managing geotechnical investigations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare desktop studies, data review, and technical documentation.
• Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations on client sites.
• Log soil cores and rock cores; conduct geotechnical site investigations.
• Coordinate laboratory testing programs and manage samples.
• Assist with geotechnical analyses for foundations, slope stability, and earthworks.
• Prepare factual and interpretive reports; assist with bids and scope development.
