Job summary

SGS Australia is seeking a Field Data Engineer (DAQ Engineer) to join our team on a full-time FIFO basis, working a 28:28 roster from Moomba, SA. This hands-on role supports Well Test operations by setting up, operating and maintaining data acquisition systems and delivering accurate data to Supervisors and clients.

You will troubleshoot equipment issues, plan equipment readiness, interpret P&IDs and ensure safe, compliant field operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with field data acquisition in oil and gas operations.
• Ability to fault find, troubleshoot and implement corrective actions.
• Professional communication with clients onsite.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain data acquisition systems for well testing operations.
• Deliver accurate test data and information to supervisors and clients.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support job planning by confirming equipment readiness and requirements.
• Interpret P&IDs and assist with sensor rig‑ups.
• Ensure field equipment is maintained and operated safely.
• Comply with SGS safety standards and regulations.
