Job summary

Tamworth Regional Council is seeking an IMS Specialist to deepen knowledge and experience in Work Health & Safety while supporting the WHS team across diverse operational areas. You will provide practical, field-based support, help manage risks, and contribute to a safe and healthy workplace for employees, contractors and visitors.

The role focuses on monitoring compliance, incident reporting, investigations, training, emergency preparedness and driving improvement projects under the WHS Team

Qualifications

• Diploma in WHS or equivalent is required.
• WHS Construction Induction Card is required.
• Current Driver Licence is required.
• Willingness to undergo required immunisations including Hepatitis, Tetanus and Q Fever.

Responsibilities

• Support the WHS Team in monitoring health and safety compliance across the organisation.
• Identify, record and report hazards, incidents and injuries with timely follow-up and communication with stakeholders.
• Assist in investigating workplace incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct health and safety training sessions for management, supervisors and workers.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and first aid arrangements.
• Undertake special WHS projects and improvement initiatives as directed by the WHS Team Leader.
• Assist with development of business unit WHS plans and monitoring compliance.
• Inspect workplaces, tools and equipment to ensure compliance.
