Job summary

Reef Catchments Limited seeks a Project Officer to plan, coordinate and deliver Waterways projects that improve catchment condition and water quality. The role focuses on practical, on-ground restoration, including streambank remediation and riparian repair, under the guidance of senior staff.

You will manage landholder access, contractors and budgets, conduct inspections and monitoring, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region and NRM priorities.
• Experience supporting or delivering practical on-ground projects.
• Experience with work plans, budgets and reporting.
• Ability to work with landholders, contractors and stakeholders.
• WHS compliance in field and contractor delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate delivery of Waterways projects with work plans, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate on-ground waterway works: streambank remediation and riparian repair.
• Manage landholder access, contractors, suppliers and logistics.
• Conduct site inspections and monitoring to track progress.
• Build relationships with landholders, Traditional Owners and partners.
• Support procurement and contractor checks to meet requirements.
• Maintain project records, budgets and reporting data.
• Apply safe work practices and WHS controls across field activities.
• Identify risks and opportunities and support continuous improvement.
