Job summary

Reef Catchments Limited seeks an Environmental Projects Team Manager to lead a portfolio of NRM initiatives across the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region. You will oversee planning, resourcing, delivery and evaluation to achieve environmental outcomes.

You will manage budgets and timelines, coach Project Officers, and build strong partnerships with Traditional Owners, landholders and government agencies while maintaining governance and reporting standards.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in environmental science or related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Significant experience leading biodiversity or natural resource management programs or portfolios of funded projects with budgets, milestones and reporting.
• Experience leading staff and managing performance, capability and workforce priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with community, industry, government and other delivery partners; current Australian driver's licence and regional travel capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, resourcing, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of environmental and natural resource management projects to achieve agreed outcomes.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, milestones and reporting requirements, ensuring projects are delivered within scope, budget and timeframes.
• Lead and support a team of Project Officers through workforce planning, work allocation, coaching, performance management and development.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with Traditional Owners, landholders, industry, community groups, government agencies, funders and project partners.
• Oversee contractors, consultants and service providers to ensure contractual obligations, quality standards and project outcomes.
• Prepare and review funding proposals, reports, briefs and other project documentation to meet organisational and funding requirements.
• Ensure monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities provide reliable evidence of project outcomes and support continuous improvement.
• Identify and manage project, financial, operational and reputational risks, escalating significant issues when required.
• Represent Reef Catchments at meetings, workshops, industry forums and community events to promote strong partnerships and regional outcomes.
• Collaborate with other managers and support teams to contribute to organisational priorities and a positive workplace culture.
