Job summary

Orica is seeking an experienced Technical Services Engineer - Underground Mining to join its Mining Services Technical team in Kurri Kurri, NSW. This field-facing role applies engineering expertise to solve blasting challenges, optimise outcomes, and support safe, efficient mining operations.

On an 8 days on / 6 days off roster with travel across NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and New Zealand, you will troubleshoot operations, drive blast performance improvements and deliver practical solutions within

Qualifications

Degree in mining engineering or related field.
Experience applying blast design in underground operations.
Strong communication and collaboration across sites.

Responsibilities

Design and optimise underground blast outcomes for production and development.
Diagnose and resolve blasting challenges with site teams.
Lead technical improvement projects on fragmentation, dilution, cycle time and cost.
Provide guidance on blast design, initiation systems and loading practices.
Manage blast vibration and environmental impacts in sensitive environments.
Support product trials and continuous improvement with global teams.
Collaborate with local and global Orica specialists to deliver solutions.
