Job summary

Cleanaway is seeking a Technical Manager to lead two hazardous waste operations across Potassium Street and Krypton Street. This field-based role requires hands-on leadership, translating chemistry into safe, compliant decisions while working with chemists, supervisors and frontline teams.

You will drive cross-site integration between laboratory, technical and operations teams, assess waste streams and constraints, and coach teams on sampling, QA/QC to improve performance and safety.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Applied Science or closely related scientific discipline.
• Experience applying chemistry within an industrial, environmental, hazardous materials or operational setting.
• Strong understanding of sampling, laboratory analysis and QA/QC principles.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret technical information and convert it into operational decisions.
• Knowledge of environmental compliance, waste treatment, chemical compatibility or related processing activities.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal technical adviser for waste treatment, acceptance and site operating decisions.
• Lead integration between laboratory, technical and operations teams across multiple sites.
• Assess waste streams, treatment capability and operational constraints to support safe processing decisions.
• Coach technical teams on sampling, QA/QC practices and application of technical data.
• Develop procedures and decision pathways that improve consistency and operational performance.
• Contribute technical expertise to infrastructure, process improvement and site development initiatives.
