Job summary

Cleanaway is hiring multiple Chemists at our Narangba branch to sample, analyse and process waste safely. You will work with operators and leaders, combining lab and field tasks and using PPE in outdoor industrial settings. Your role supports risk assessment and quality control with accurate record keeping.

Degree in Chemistry or related discipline and understanding of hazardous materials are required, along with strong safety awareness and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly.

• Must have safety awareness and follow procedures.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Experience applying chemistry in real-world environments.

Responsibilities

• Collect representative samples from liquid and solid waste streams.
• Perform laboratory and field analysis to support safe waste decisions.
• Identify unusual results and escalate concerns promptly.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to operators and site leaders.
• Work outdoors in active industrial areas with PPE as required.
• Support risk assessment and QA/QC activities and keep accurate records.
