Job summary

Queensland Government Housing and Homelessness Services on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a dedicated Housing Officer to support tenancy management, assess housing applications, perform field visits, and coordinate with service providers. The role requires field work, strong people skills, and a commitment to equity and safety.

Training is provided and ongoing support is available. The role involves working in various housing settings, visiting properties, and helping clients access housing

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or government service delivery.
• Ability to manage unexpected events with sound judgement and escalation when needed.
• Strong communication and collaboration across government and community providers.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customers and conduct interviews, referrals to support services.
• Assess new housing and bond loan applications and rental grants.
• Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations, vacancies and liaise with housing providers.
• Conduct home visits, investigate tenancy disputes, and coordinate property inspections.
• Monitor arrears, rent assessments, deductions and refunds; action sundry debts.
