Job summary

Hydrostor Industrial is seeking an experienced Fiberglass Technician to join our Penrith team. The role is full-time with a 2.00pm–10.00pm afternoon shift, Monday to Friday, in an Australian manufacturing setting with over 50 years of experience.

You will read approved drawings to manufacture stormwater containment tanks, cut and prepare fiberglass, laminate with hand layup, and finish tanks with a flow coat while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in fiberglass industry.
• Understanding of Orthophthalic, isophthalic and vinyl ester resins.

Responsibilities

• Read and manufacture stormwater containment and treatment tanks from approved drawings.
• Cut and prepare fiberglass for installation of components and penetrations.
• Laminate using hand layup techniques and fill gaps.
• Finish tanks with a flow coat.
• Work safely following all safety instructions and policies.
• Access work areas using ladders and scaffolding.

As an Australian manufacturer of fibre reinforced prefabricated storage tanks since 1972, Hydrostor Industrial Pty Ltd - an associated entity of SPEL Environmental Pty Ltd - has over 50 years' experience in providing solutions for many applications.

We are currently seeking an experienced Fiberglass Technician / Fiber Composite Technician to join our team in Penrith. This is a full time role and will involve working Monday to Friday 2.00pm to 10.00pm (afternoon shift).

You will be responsible for:

• Working in a safe manner and following all safety instructions and policies
• Safely using ladders and scaffolding to access work areas
• Reading and manufacturing stormwater containment and treatment tanks in accordance with approved drawings
• Cutting and preparing fiberglass for the installation of components and penetrations
• Filling all gaps and laminating using hand layup techniques
• Finishing tanks with a flow coat

Applicants must have at least 3 years' experience in a similar role in the fiberglass industry.

You'll also have an understanding of differences between Orthophthalic, isophthalic and vinyl ester resins, and have experience using Methyl Methacrylate Adhesives (MMA).

A salary package of $80,000- $85,000 will be offered to the successful applicant, plus afternoon shift loading and overtime as required.
