Job summary

Sydney Writers’ Festival is seeking a Production Manager for the 2027 Festival and year-round Events to join our team. You will support production planning, technical delivery, logistics, budgets, and crew management, liaising with the Head of Production and Operations.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in producing large-scale festivals or public programs, demonstrated ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple venues, with a proactive approach to continuous

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in event or festival production with complex public events.
Experience leading production teams, casual crew, contractors and suppliers.
Experience coordinating concurrent events across multiple venues or sites.
Strong financial acumen to track expenses and ensure budget compliance.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations for large-scale events.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver production and operational requirements for festivals and events.
Coordinate technical delivery, logistics and event crew across venues.
Manage budgets, contracts and supplier performance.
Collaborate with artists, venue production staff and sponsors.
Support development of Event Management Plans, risk assessments and incident procedures.
