Job summary

Royal Perth Hospital invites applications for a Urology Fellow. This position provides and promotes high quality patient centred care to inpatients and outpatients under supervision of consultant medical staff, with training and supervision for RMOs.

The fellow will participate in robotic, minimally invasive and open oncological surgeries, and contribute to an academic research program aiming to publish two projects with registrars and residents.

Please note this is for the 2027 Urology Fellow Intake with an appointment at Registrar or Senior Registrar (with FRACS or equivalent) depending on years of experience as a Trainee Registrar in Urology.

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full-Time appointments for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 01/02/2027.

Salary:Registrar MP Year 1-7 $155,932 to $208,619 p.a. or Senior Registrar MP Year 1-2 $228,222 to $238,666 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 12% superannuation and professional development allowance)

Position Profile

We are recruiting for Urology Fellow. This position provides and promotes high quality and patient centred care to inpatients and outpatients of the specialty under the supervision of consultant medical staff. It also provides training, supervision and education for Resident Medical Officers (RMOs). The successful fellows, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, will work to achieve National, State and Metropolitan Health Service performance standards and the National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards.

We offer comprehensive urological care, ranging from robotic, minimally invasive to open oncological surgery (prostate, bladder, renal, testicular, and penile) and complex reconstructive procedures. Apart from being involved in major surgery, there are dedicated fellow outpatient and theatre sessions (to be decided based on level of experience). The successful fellow will also be a part of an academic research team, with the aim to publish 2 research projects with the assistance of registrars and residents in the unit.

Area Profile: Royal Perth Hospital (RPH)

is Perth’s inner city, tertiary adult hospital and part of the Royal Perth Bentley Group. It is home to the State Major Adult Trauma Service. The Hospital offers tertiary-level emergency medicine, mental health, complex and elective surgical care, and specialist medical services. It is also a premier teaching hospital and contributes to innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care. The RPH Trauma unit is a Level 1 centre and the second busiest by volume in Australia which is supported by 5 full-time trauma surgeons.
