Browns Stockfeed Pty Ltd in Colbinabbin, VIC, is seeking a reliable Feed Mill Operator to join a small, hands-on team. You will operate pellet presses and mill equipment, weigh raw ingredients, and help maintain quality and safety in daily production.

Feed Mill Operator / Pellet Press Operator

Browns Stockfeed is looking for a reliable and motivated Feed Mill Operator to join our team at our Colbinabbin manufacturing facility.

With a new Site Manager on board, we're focused on improving our equipment, streamlining operations and continuing to build a strong, reliable team.

This is an opportunity for someone with experience in manufacturing, machinery operation or feed production who enjoys hands-on work and being part of a small team.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has good mechanical aptitude and is willing to contribute to the ongoing success of the mill.

About the Role

You’ll be involved in the day-to-day operation of our feed mill, helping to ensure we produce quality stockfeed safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating and monitoring pellet presses and associated mill equipment
• Batching and accurately weighing raw ingredients
• Monitoring production quality and equipment performance
• Carrying out routine cleaning and preventative maintenance
• Assisting with troubleshooting, breakdowns and equipment repairs
• Unloading raw materials and loading finished products
• Working alongside the team to achieve daily production targets
• Identifying opportunities to improve safety, efficiency and mill operations

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or production environment
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Confidence using computers and digital production systems, with the ability to learn new software
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
• A strong commitment to safety and quality
• Good communication skills and reliability
• A willingness to learn and contribute ideas for improvement
• Experience in stockfeed manufacturing or pellet press operation would be highly regarded, but applicants with relevant experience from other industries are also encouraged to apply.
• Forklift experience and familiarity with automated batching or production control software, such as Probatch, would be advantageous.
