Job summary

JBS Beef City Feedlot, part of JBS Australia, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join the Maintenance Team. You will service, repair and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles and agricultural machinery to maximise reliability and safety.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) with a starting rate of $46.78 per hour plus a tool allowance. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates and ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified diesel mechanic with post-trade experience.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Experience with maintenance/repair in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and quality assurance.

Job description

JBS Beef City Feedlot is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Diesel Mechanic to join its Maintenance Team. In this role, you will be responsible for maximising equipment reliability and availability by carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing, and timely breakdown repairs. You will work across a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles and machinery, including trucks, feeding equipment, front-end loaders, screening equipment, tractors, and other agricultural machinery, ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

About You

• Trade Qualified Diesel Mechanic with post-trade experience
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
• Experience with maintenance/repair in a fast-paced environment
• Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills
• Sound communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
• Good work ethic and a willingness to share information and skills
• Sound knowledge and understanding of safe work practices and quality assurance
• Demonstrated ability to identify faults with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems, including experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical diagnosis
• Ability to ensure that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant legislation
