Job summary

Premier Fresh Australia is seeking an experienced supervisor to lead daily farm and shed operations, ensuring production, quality and safety targets are met. You will manage Farm Hands, Shed Hands and Supervisors, coordinating with Growers, Agronomists, HR and external labour providers.

The role requires strong crop management, irrigation, pest control skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced farming environment. On-site work with a focus on WHS and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in banana farming.
• Strong knowledge of crop management, irrigation, fertiliser, and pest control.
• Basic computer skills including email, Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily farm and shed operations to meet production, quality, and safety targets.
• Supervise, train, motivate, and performance-manage farming teams.
• Coordinate labour requirements with HR and labour hire providers.
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings and staff inductions.
• Monitor crop health, irrigation, fertiliser application, and pest control.
• Oversee maintenance of irrigation systems and fertiliser application.
• Maintain WHS focus through audits, incident reporting and compliance.
• Oversee machinery pre-start checks, cleaning and maintenance schedules.
• Assist with harvest forecasting, production reporting and KPI tracking.
• Ensure QA accreditations, hygiene programs and quality standards.
