Job summary

Uniting Limited is seeking a Family Violence Practitioner based in Sale to provide support to individuals and families impacted by family violence. This role involves conducting MARAM-based risk assessments and developing safety plans in collaboration with team leaders and senior case managers.

The position is part-time (38 hours per fortnight) with a max term until 30 June 2027, offering SCHADS Level 5 + super and salary packaging benefits to enhance take-home pay.

Qualifications

  • Must hold AQF Level 7+ degree in Social Work or related family violence discipline.
  • Refer to Victorian Government requirements in policy.
  • Alternative experience pathways may be considered.

About the opportunity

As a Family Violence Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals and families impacted by family violence. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive risk assessments utilizing the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) framework, as well as ongoing assessments using the "Best Interests" framework for children and families. Collaborating closely with team leaders and senior case managers, you will develop and implement family action and safety plans tailored to each family's unique needs.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Minimum Qualification Requirement in line with Victorian Government requirements, applicants must hold a relevant degree qualification in Social Work or a related family violence discipline (AQF Level 7 or above).

You will also have:

  • Experience as a practitioner in the family violence and child, youth, and family welfare field.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the current needs of families, young people and children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families to meet and achieve goals that facilitate safe and nurturing environments for children and young people including developing action plans.
  • Commitment to the family-centered approach and the family strengthening and empowerment models of practice especially in the context of family violence.
