Job summary

Uniting Vic.Tas in Sale, VIC is seeking a Family Violence Practitioner to support individuals and families affected by family violence. You will conduct risk assessments using the MARAM framework and develop safety plans in collaboration with team leaders.

You will work flexibly, align with the Best Interests framework for children, and contribute to a family-centered approach that strengthens safety and wellbeing for young people and families.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Social Work or related family violence discipline (AQF Level 7+).

About the opportunity

As a Family Violence Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals and families impacted by family violence. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive risk assessments utilizing the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) framework, as well as ongoing assessments using the "Best Interests" framework for children and families. Collaborating closely with team leaders and senior case managers, you will develop and implement family action and safety plans tailored to each family's unique needs.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Minimum Qualification Requirement in line with Victorian Government requirements, applicants must hold a relevant degree qualification in Social Work or a related family violence discipline (AQF Level 7 or above).

• Experience as a practitioner in the family violence and child, youth, and family welfare field.
• Ability to work flexibly to meet the current needs of families, young people and children.
• Ability to work collaboratively with families to meet and achieve goals that facilitate safe and nurturing environments for children and young people including developing action plans.
• Commitment to the family-centered approach and the family strengthening and empowerment models of practice especially in the context of family violence.
