Job summary

AWX is seeking a factory hand at our Yatala site, with the potential to launch a career in steel reinforcement and construction materials. This hands-on, physical role starts on the factory floor alongside an established crew.

You’ll work Monday to Friday with 5:30am starts, learn to operate equipment, follow safety procedures and progress with on‑the‑job training toward permanent employment in a growing Australian manufacturing business.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in factory or production environments.
• Comfort with physical/manual work all shift.
• Ability to follow site procedures and safety rules.
• Willingness to start early and commit to full-time hours.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and handle steel reinforcement products with the production team.

Job description

AWX is seeking a factory hand willing to work their way up in a reinforcing steel supplier. Starting on the factory floor with opportunity to launch a career in the industry. Our client is an established Australian manufacturer supplying steel reinforcement and construction materials to major projects.

Based in Yatala, this is a hands‑on manufacturing environment with an established crew, consistent weekday hours and a strong focus on working safely and getting the job done properly.

What you’ll do

• Work with the production team manufacturing and handling steel reinforcement products
• Move, prepare and handle materials throughout the factory
• Help keep production areas clean, organised and running safely
• Learn to operate factory equipment, including overhead/gantry cranes where trained
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assist customers and communicate professionally.
• Wear full PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-capped boots, long pants and a long‑sleeved shirt.

This is physical factory work. You’ll be on your feet, handling materials and working around steel and production equipment throughout the shift.

What you’ll need

We’re more interested in finding the right reliable person than someone who has done this exact job before.

• Reliable transport to Yatala for a 5:30am start every day
• A strong track record of attendance and turning up when expected
• Experience in factory, production, manufacturing, warehousing or similar hands‑on work
• To be comfortable with physical/manual work throughout the shift
• A safety-first attitude and willingness to follow site procedures
• Good communication and the ability to work as part of an established crew
• To be looking for ongoing, stable work, not a short‑term role

Experience in steel, metal manufacturing, construction materials or heavy industry would be useful, but it isn’t essential.
