Job summary

BoardTech, a Brisbane-based manufacturer of commercial furniture, cabinetry and joinery, is seeking a hands-on Factory Manager to lead daily factory operations and ensure safe, on-time production.

You will plan schedules, supervise staff, coordinate machining and assembly, check specs and maintain quality while improving workflow and reducing waste. The role requires practical leadership and a commitment to safety and accountability on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Factory Manager or production supervisor in furniture or cabinetry.
• Strong knowledge of reading drawings, cutting lists and job specs.
• Proven ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily production schedules to meet delivery commitments.

• Coordinate machinery maintenance and address breakdowns promptly.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workplace.
• Improve workflow, reduce waste and minimise rework.
• Keep management informed of production progress, staffing needs and potential delays.

Are you a practical, organised leader with experience in cabinetry, commercial furniture or manufacturing? BoardTech is seeking a hands‑on Factory Manager to take responsibility for daily factory operations and keep production running safely, efficiently and on schedule.

About the role

You'll oversee the production process from job scheduling and material preparation through to machining, assembly, quality control and dispatch. Working closely with management and the ordering team, you'll turn customer requirements into clear production priorities and make sure the factory delivers.

This role suits someone who leads from the factory floor, sets clear expectations and is willing to roll up their sleeves when needed.

Your responsibilities

What you'll bring

Experience as a Factory Manager, Production Supervisor or leading hand in commercial furniture, cabinetry, joinery or a similar manufacturing environment.

Strong practical knowledge of furniture and cabinetmaking processes, board products, hardware and factory machinery.

The ability to read and interpret drawings, cutting lists and job specifications.

Confident leadership and clear communication.

Strong planning skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.

A proactive approach to solving problems and maintaining quality.

Confidence using computers and production scheduling systems.

A commitment to workplace safety and team accountability.

A cabinetmaking or joinery trade qualification, CNC experience and a forklift licence would be highly regarded.
