Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council in Maryborough, QLD, is seeking a Facilities Officer to join the Property Works & Services team. The role covers maintenance, operations and capital improvements across administration, public-use, and heritage-listed facilities, with a focus on asset management and compliance.

You will conduct building inspections, prepare asset condition reports, develop maintenance schedules, assist with budgets, and manage contract documentation while liaising with contractors

Qualifications

• Experience applying building, heritage and safety regulations.
• Experience conducting inspections, reporting and cost estimation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Valid driver’s licence and construction induction white card.

Responsibilities

• Conducting building inspections, preparing asset condition reports and other relevant documentation.

What we are looking for:

We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Officer to join our Property Works & Services team, based out of Maryborough but working on projects across the Fraser Coast region. You’ll coordinate and supervise he maintenance, operations and capital improvements on a range of administration, public use, and heritage listed facilities.

What your day will look like:

• Conducting building inspections, preparing asset condition reports and other relevant documentation
• Developing, implementing and reviewing forecasts, maintenance schedules, and asset management plans
• Assisting with the management of operational and capital budgets for building maintenance and capital works programs
• Preparing relevant quotation and tender documentation and appropriate contract administration
• Liaising with contractors and tradespersons where required

What you’ll need for success:

• Experience interpreting and applying building, heritage and safety regulations
• Demonstrated experience conducting inspections reporting and cost estimation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a variety of stakeholders
• Valid drivers licence and a construction induction white card

What’s nice to have:

• AQF level 5 or above in construction or a related field
