Job summary

Bundaberg Regional Council is seeking an experienced and strategic Facilities Manager to lead the planning, maintenance, development, and performance of Council's diverse portfolio of community and administrative facilities.

This role works closely with the Branch Manager and a broad range of stakeholders to drive asset sustainability, oversee capital projects, and contribute to long-term planning that delivers lasting benefits to the Bundaberg Region.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing high-volume facilities, assets, infrastructure, or large projects in a large organisation.
  • Strong financial and project management skills, including budgeting, procurement, and capital works delivery.
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders, prepare professional reports, and provide expert advice to senior leaders.
  • Experience managing maintenance programs, contractors, leases, or land tenure agreements.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability, safety, and high-quality community outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in facility management, asset management or project management are highly regarded.

  • Lead planning, maintenance, development and performance of Council facilities portfolio.

  • Manage operational performance and coordinate with the Branch Manager and stakeholders.

About The Opportunity

Bundaberg Regional Council is seeking an experienced and strategic Facilities Manager to lead the planning, maintenance, development, and performance of Council's diverse portfolio of community and administrative facilities. This role plays a key part in ensuring Council venues remain safe, accessible, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of our growing region. Working closely with the Branch Manager and a broad range of stakeholders, you will drive asset sustainability, oversee capital projects, manage operational performance, and contribute to long-term planning that delivers lasting benefits to our community.

About You

You are a collaborative and solutions-focused leader with strong experience in facilities, asset, or project management. You bring a strategic mindset and the ability to balance operational priorities with long-term planning. To be successful in this role, you will have:
