Job summary

Oaks Cypress lakes Resort is seeking an experienced and reliable Facilities Manager to lead our facilities operations on a full-time basis at our NSW property. You will oversee preventative maintenance, contractor management, Body Corporate relationships, compliance, capital projects and day-to-day maintenance across the resort.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance or facilities management experience, ideally in hotel or similar environment.
• Knowledge of building systems and compliance requirements.
• Experience with painting, plastering, carpentry, and general building repairs.
• Proven ability to lead, manage and develop team members.
• Experience implementing preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong contractor management, negotiation and vendor coordination.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, reporting tools).

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive preventative maintenance programs to keep building systems safe and efficient.
• Provide hands-on repairs and maintenance across the property.
• Manage contractors across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire, security and other services.
• Oversee maintenance of common areas, gardens and grounds.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules, quotes, reporting and asset management plans.
• Liaise with Body Corporate, owners, residents and hotel management on property matters.
• Assist with budgeting, expenditure control, invoices and capital projects.
• Ensure WHS compliance and regulatory obligations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Support sustainability and continuous improvement projects.

Job Description

Oaks Cypress lakes Resort are looking for an experienced and reliable Facilities Manager to lead our facilities operations on a full-time basis.

This role is essential in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all building systems, common areas, and resort facilities. The successful candidate will oversee preventative maintenance programs, contractor management, Body Corporate relationships, compliance obligations, capital projects, and day‑to‑day maintenance activities across the property.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Lead and drive preventative maintenance programs to ensure all building systems and facilities are operating safely and efficiently.
• Provide hands‑on support by undertaking repairs and maintenance as required across the property.
• Manage contractors and service providers across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire, security, pest control, cleaning, and essential services.
• Oversee the presentation, maintenance, and upkeep of common areas, gardens, and grounds.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules, contractor works, quotes, reporting, and asset management plans.
• Liaise with Body Corporate representatives, owners, residents, and hotel management on all property‑related matters.
• Assist with budgeting, expenditure control, invoice approvals, and capital expenditure projects.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), emergency procedures, contractor management requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, contractor documentation, building reports, and compliance registers.
• Support sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance property performance and guest experience.

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Monday to Friday
• 7:30am start time (flexible for the right candidate)
• Occasional weekend or after‑hours callouts may be required on an ad hoc basis

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous hands‑on Maintenance or Facilities Management experience, ideally within a hotel or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, compliance requirements and property maintenance best practices.
• Experience with painting, plastering, carpentry and general building repairs.
• Proven ability to lead, manage and develop team members.
• Demonstrated experience implementing preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong capability in contractor management, negotiation and vendor coordination.
• Sound MS Office skills (Excel, Word, reporting tools).
• A passion for delivering proactive, high‑quality service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with professional presentation.
• A building qualification will be highly regarded.
