Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification or trade background in Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, Construction, Electrical, Civil, or similar.
• Experience in facilities management, asset management, project management, and contract management.
• Strong WHS understanding.

Responsibilities

• Manage airport infrastructure and asset maintenance programs.
• Develop and implement planned and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Lead facilities and service contracts, ensuring performance and compliance requirements are met.
• Deliver capital works and improvement projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Monitor asset performance and contribute to long-term asset lifecycle planning.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, tenants, stakeholders, and service providers.
• Ensure aviation, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards compliance.
• Support budget development and cost management initiatives.
• Promote a strong safety culture through risk identification and management.

Are you an experienced facilities or asset management professional looking for a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the aviation industry?

Alice Springs Airport is seeking a proactive and hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, compliance, and ongoing improvement of critical airport infrastructure and assets. This is an exciting role that combines facilities management, contractor management, project delivery, and asset lifecycle planning within a dynamic operational environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Airport Operations - Regional, you will play a key role in ensuring the airport's facilities and infrastructure remain safe, compliant, efficient, and fit for purpose.

This is a diverse position that balances strategic planning with practical, on-the-ground management, requiring strong stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage airport infrastructure and asset maintenance programs
• Develop and implement planned and preventative maintenance schedules
• Lead facilities and service contracts, ensuring performance and compliance requirements are met

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification or trade background in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, Construction, Electrical, Civil, or similar
• Demonstrated experience in facilities management, asset management, project management, and contract management
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Proven ability to manage contractors and multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent financial, budgeting, and commercial acumen
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a broader management team
• High proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

Highly Regarded

• Previous experience in airports, aviation, transport infrastructure, utilities, or other highly regulated operational environments
• Knowledge of airport operations, aviation compliance, and safety frameworks
