Job summary

Alice Springs Airport, operated by Airport Development Group (ADG), seeks a proactive Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance, compliance and ongoing improvements to critical airport assets. You will manage contractors, lead capital works and drive asset lifecycle plans in a fast‑paced operational setting.

Reporting to the Head of Airport Operations - Regional, you will balance strategic planning with hands‑on delivery, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and cost‑effective performance

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification or trade background in Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, Construction, Electrical or similar.
• Demonstrated experience in facilities and asset management with project and contract oversight.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage airport infrastructure and asset maintenance programs.
• Develop and implement planned and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Lead facilities and service contracts, ensuring performance and compliance.
• Deliver capital works and improvement projects on time and within budget.
• Monitor asset performance and participate in long‑term lifecycle planning.
• Build relationships with contractors, tenants, stakeholders and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with aviation, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
• Support budget development and cost management initiatives.
• Promote safety culture through risk identification and management.

Alice Springs Airport is seeking a proactive and hands‑on Facilities Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, compliance, and ongoing improvement of critical airport infrastructure and assets. This is an exciting role that combines facilities management, contractor management, project delivery, and asset lifecycle planning within a dynamic operational environment.

About The Role

Reporting to the Head of Airport Operations - Regional, you will play a key role in ensuring the airport's facilities and infrastructure remain safe, compliant, efficient, and fit for purpose.

This is a diverse position that balances strategic planning with practical, on-the-ground management, requiring strong stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage airport infrastructure and asset maintenance programs

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification or trade background in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, Construction, Electrical, Civil, or similar
• Demonstrated experience in facilities management, asset management, project management, and contract management
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Proven ability to manage contractors and multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent financial, budgeting, and commercial acumen
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a broader management team
• High proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

Highly Regarded

• Previous experience in airports, aviation, transport infrastructure, utilities, or other highly regulated operational environments
• Knowledge of airport operations, aviation compliance, and safety frameworks
