Job description

Facilities Manager

Take ownership of Hume Bank’s facilities across our branch network and corporate offices, keeping our workplaces safe, secure, compliant and running smoothly.

Why join us?
  • Take ownership of facilities outcomes across Hume Bank’s branch network and corporate office environments.
  • Enjoy a varied, hands‑on role spanning facilities operations, maintenance, contractors, projects, fleet and workplace improvements.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business and external service providers to deliver practical outcomes that make a genuine difference to our people and customers.
  • Join a customer‑owned regional bank where our values of With Respect, Growing Together and Shaping Tomorrow guide the way we work.
About the role

As our Facilities Manager, you’ll be the internal owner of facilities outcomes across Hume Bank’s branches and corporate office environments. You’ll ensure our sites are safe, secure, compliant, well‑maintained and fit for purpose, taking ownership of facilities matters from identification right through to completion.

This is a broad and varied role covering preventative and reactive maintenance, cleaning, building presentation, security and access control, contractor coordination, facilities compliance, minor capital works and urgent facilities responses. You’ll also oversee our pool vehicle fleet and help ensure our external environments, including gardens, accessways and car parks, are maintained safely and to a high standard.

You’ll work closely with teams across Finance, Retail, Risk & Compliance, People & Culture, IT, Procurement and WHS, along with branch leaders and external service providers. You’ll be the person who keeps facilities issues moving, ensuring work is appropriately prioritised, communicated, documented and closed out.

What you can expect
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of Hume Bank’s branch and corporate office facilities.
  • Coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance, repairs, cleaning, essential services, security, access control and building presentation.
  • Manage contractors and external service providers, including quotes, scheduling, site access, service standards, costs and completion of works.
  • Scope and coordinate minor fit‑outs, refurbishments, relocations, repairs and capital works projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate urgent facilities responses where issues could impact safety, security, customer access, compliance or business continuity.
  • Manage facilities budgets, records, compliance evidence and the maintenance of Hume Bank’s pool vehicle fleet
About you
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in facilities management, property operations or a similar role, ideally within a multi‑site, customer‑facing or regulated environment.
  • Have demonstrated experience managing contractors and outsourced service providers, including service levels, quotes, costs, compliance requirements and issue resolution.
  • Have sound knowledge of building operations, WHS obligations, access control, physical security, preventative maintenance and compliance record keeping.
  • Be confident managing competing priorities across multiple sites and taking ownership of issues through to completion.
  • Have strong stakeholder management, negotiation, budgeting and project coordination skills.
  • Communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, from branch teams and senior leaders through to contractors and specialist providers.
  • Hold a First Aid Certificate, Construction White Card and valid manual driver’s licence, with the ability to travel regularly to branch locations.
  • Ideally hold a relevant qualification in facilities management, property, building services, asset management, WHS, project management, business or a related discipline, although equivalent practical experience will also be highly regarded.
About Us

Hume Bank exists to create a secure tomorrow – by connecting people and community through fair and accessible banking.

We’re customer‑owned, which means our profits go back into better banking – not shareholder returns. We’re proud of that. It’s what shapes how we show up for our members and for the communities across our home markets in Albury‑Wodonga and Geelong.

People who bank with us, stay with us. That trust has been built over decades of showing up locally, reinvesting in the community and genuinely putting members before margin. We know we’re a well‑kept secret to many – and that’s exactly why we’re growing our brand and marketing capability right now.

We’re a regional bank with real agility, real community roots and a brand that’s finding its momentum. If you want your marketing to land in people’s lives and make a difference – this is the place to do it.

Our Values are With Respect, Growing Together and Shaping Tomorrow and they’re the way we work.

Together, our money has real power. Come build something worth belonging to.
