Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Respond to daily reactive maintenance requests within the building.
• Carry out general building repairs and maintenance.
• Undertake minor carpentry and repair works.
• Complete door, lock, hinge and hardware repairs.
• Undertake patching and minor painting.
• Repair and replace fixtures and fittings.
• Complete minor plumbing-related maintenance where a licensed plumber is not required.
• Undertake furniture, shelving and general equipment repairs.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
• Proactively identify defects before they develop into larger issues.
• Assist and coordinate specialist contractors attending the building.
• Monitor outstanding maintenance items through to completion.
• Maintain tools, equipment and maintenance/storage areas.
• Complete digital work orders including photographs and job notes.
• Report significant defects, safety concerns and required capital works to the Facilities Manager.
• Assist with maintaining the overall presentation and condition of the office building.

An established Australian facilities management and property services business is seeking an experienced and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician for a permanent full-time position based at a commercial office building in South West Sydney. This is a dedicated single-site position, with the successful applicant based at the same office building each day.

The Role

• Respond to daily reactive maintenance requests within the building
• Conduct regular inspections and identify maintenance requirements
• Carry out general building repairs and maintenance
• Undertake minor carpentry and repair works
• Complete door, lock, hinge and hardware repairs
• Undertake patching and minor painting
• Repair and replace fixtures and fittings
• Complete minor plumbing-related maintenance where a licensed plumber is not required

About You

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in maintaining a commercial property to a high standard. Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, carpenter, tradesperson or building maintenance professional
• Strong general maintenance and fault-finding capabilities
• Experience in commercial buildings, offices, shopping centres, hotels or similar properties
• Ability to undertake a broad range of minor repairs
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently and manage daily workload
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional presentation suitable for a corporate office environment
• Basic computer/mobile skills for digital work orders
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety
