Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance across the Ormeau site, delivering planned, preventative and reactive activities while supporting major rail infrastructure programs.

You will manage a high‑performing team and contractors, drive safety and continuous improvement, monitor budgets, and partner with operations to minimise disruption and deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification and/or Engineering/Building degree (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience leading maintenance teams and contractors.
• Strong background in facilities, infrastructure or asset management.
• Experience managing budgets, cost control and performance outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all facilities and infrastructure maintenance activities across the Ormeau site and supporting locations.
• Deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance in line with the Technical Maintenance Plan.
• Oversee facility projects, including upgrades, installations and capital works.
• Drive Zero Harm outcomes, ensuring safe systems of work and strong HSE performance.
• Manage budgeting, cost control and resource planning for maintenance activities.
• Partner with Operations to ensure minimal disruption to production and service delivery.
• Lead, coach and develop the Facilities Maintenance team and contractors.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external partners.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement, innovation and sustainability initiatives.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead the delivery of maintenance across infrastructure, facilities, plant and equipment at our QTMP Ormeau Maintenance Centre. This is a rare opportunity where you'll drive performance, reliability and safety across site operations, leading a high-performing team and supply chain to deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance while supporting critical infrastructure projects.
