Job summary

Trinity College in Adelaide seeks a dedicated Grounds and Maintenance team member to keep our playing fields, surrounds and gardens well presented across multiple sites. This full-time role supports teaching, learning and co-curricular activities through high-standard grounds care.

The successful candidate will hold a Turf/Horticulture qualification, bring irrigation knowledge, and work safely in a school environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III in Turf Management or Horticulture.
• Experience maintaining cricket wickets is advantageous.
• Experience in a continuous delivery service model is desirable.
• Flexible with out-of-hours work during key events and school holidays.
• Demonstrated safe work practices in a school/child-care environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-level amenity and garden maintenance according to priorities and timelines.
• Prepare sporting fields and surrounds to meet College standards.
• Assist landscape and turf renewal projects from planning to delivery, including supplies management.
• Conduct audits and safety checks to support maintenance programs.
• Collaborate with team to deliver customer-focused outcomes under the Charter.

• Salary: $84,497 in accordance with the Trinity College Enterprise Agreement

A full-time vacancy exists for an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic person to work as part of a busy team and provide support in maintaining the substantial grounds across our College.

The role:

As part of a dynamic and successful team, this position will ensure that our playing fields, surrounds, and gardens are well maintained and presented at all times. This achievement supports our College's teaching, learning, and co-curricular programs.

Our Facilities team works in accordance with our Customer Service Charter – to deliver customer-focused outcomes while limiting disruption and providing a safe environment for the College community.

Key accountabilities of the role:

• Deliver a high level of amenity and garden maintenance in accordance with job priorities and critical timelines
• Maintain and prepare sporting fields and surrounds to ensure that they meet the standards required by the College
• Support landscape and turf renewal projects from planning to delivery, including consumable and supply management of that project
• Conduct audits and safety checks to support maintenance programs
• Work collaboratively with others in the proactive delivery of the Customer Service Charter

What you will need to succeed:

• Certificate III in Turf Management or Horticulture with a demonstrated deep interest and passion for your field of expertise
• Cricket wicket maintenance experience an advantage
• Experience in a similar role within a continuous delivery service model
• Have a flexible approach to working out of hours to accommodate key events, and able to work during school holidays
• Can work unsupervised and within a team environment, at times fast-paced, demonstrating a positive attitude at all times
• Be a proactive team member, with evident strong communication and interpersonal skills, engaging with team members and key stakeholders professionally and by Trinity College Values
• A rigorous approach to safe work practices appropriate within a school and child-care environment
• Sound irrigation knowledge
• Relevant industry ticketing and licenses, including chainsaw operation and ChemCert accreditation
• Ability to maintain emails, spreadsheets and job-tracking programs appropriately
• Undertake further coaching and training as required.
• All Trinity College Staff must comply with the College’s Child Safe Policy and adhere to the Child Safety Code of Conduct
• Hold a current South Australian Driver's License without restrictions
