Job summary

Brisbane Grammar School is seeking a senior facilities leader to develop and implement the Facilities Department strategy in alignment with the School’s master plan. You will oversee the safe, sustainable operation of facilities, grounds and related services, and ensure health and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration or related field.
• 5–7 years experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, safety regulations and WHS legislation.
• Demonstrated leadership, resource management, problem-solving, decision-making and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience managing budgets, contracts, projects and service providers.
• Certification in facilities management is desirable.
• Experience with sustainability initiatives, energy management, digital transformation, automation or emerging facilities technologies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Facilities Department strategy aligned with the School’s Master Plan and capital works objectives.
• Coordinate maintenance, grounds and cleaning as integrated services with clear priorities and performance measures.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities maintenance plan including preventive maintenance and asset renewal.
• Oversee safety, security, emergency preparedness and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Lead capital improvement projects, including renovations and major repairs with governance and timelines.
• Manage budgets, contracts, procurement, and external service providers.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with School leadership to minimise disruption to operations and events.
