Job description

Facilities Capability & Systems Specialist | Facilities Capability, Systems Documentation & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Location: ACT-Based
  • Security Clearance: NV1-Cleared (Mandatory)
  • Engagement Type: Permanent

About the Position:

This is a specialist role sitting at the intersection of facilities capability, systems documentation and complex project delivery.

You'll help define and document the facility requirements needed to support a major operational capability, working closely with users, delivery stakeholders and project teams to translate practical needs into structured project artefacts and approval documentation.

The role has a strong written and analytical component. You'll develop high-quality capability documentation, support facility-related project approvals, contribute to systems engineering records and provide clear reporting to senior forums and decision-makers.

There is also a significant stakeholder component, requiring someone comfortable working across multiple delivery groups, understanding competing requirements and helping keep facility planning aligned with broader project outcomes.

What You'll Do
  • Develop high-quality capability and facilities documentation, including statements of need and project approval artefacts.
  • Work with stakeholders to define facility requirements and ensure they are accurately reflected across project documentation.
  • Prepare structured technical and commercial documentation, including Data Item Descriptions and systems engineering records.
  • Monitor progress, provide written and verbal reporting, and represent project requirements across working groups, committees and stakeholder forums.
What We Are Looking For
  • Strong analytical and written communication capability, with experience producing high-quality project, capability or technical documentation.
  • Experience working across complex stakeholder environments and translating operational requirements into structured project outcomes.
  • Background in facilities delivery, infrastructure programs or similarly complex capability environments.
  • Experience contributing to commercial, acquisition or major project activities will be highly regarded.
Environment & Capability
  • Facilities Requirements & Capability Documentation
  • Systems Engineering Artefacts & Technical Records
  • Stakeholder Coordination & Project Governance
  • Commercial Documentation & Project Approvals
A Quick Note Before You Apply
  • This role is unlikely to suit candidates whose experience has been limited to facilities operations or maintenance without broader involvement in requirements definition, project documentation and stakeholder-led delivery.
  • The stronger fit is someone who can move comfortably between users, project teams and delivery stakeholders while producing clear, reliable documentation that supports formal project decisions.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizen and hold a minimum NV1 Security Clearance.
