Job summary

UNSW seeks a Manager, Facilities Assurance and Operational Readiness to provide independent assurance across Facilities Management operations within Estate Management. You will lead asset handovers from construction to operations, drive DLP governance, and ensure compliance with fire safety and building codes.

You will design and embed enterprise audit frameworks, oversee data management, and deliver actionable insights to executives.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification or equivalent in asset management, engineering, construction management, quality assurance, or facilities management across complex infrastructure environments.
• Extensive experience leading asset handovers from construction into operations, with deep expertise in DLP governance, commissioning, fire safety compliance, and quality assurance.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of building services (HVAC, BMS, electrical, fire systems and plumbing infrastructure), building fabric (facades and structures), general services (cleaning, waste management, pest control and grounds maintenance), and relevant building codes and fire safety regulations.
• Proven track record in designing and embedding enterprise audit and assurance frameworks, supported by advanced reporting, analytics, and CMMS integration.
• Demonstrated capability in project and program management, governing large data management systems, records filing, and audit processes to ensure audit readiness.
• Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with a strong commitment to UNSW’s aims, values in action, and relevant organisational policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent assurance across FM operations.
• Lead the operational transition of new and refurbished assets into FM, establishing robust handover frameworks across asset data, documentation, defects liability, and warranties to guarantee long‑term compliance and readiness.
• Drive risk‑based safety and performance initiatives, and deliver clear operational visibility to executive stakeholders.
• Lead audit frameworks and ensure CMMS integration and robust reporting across FM.
• Oversee audit readiness through governance of asset data, documentation, and compliance processes.
