Placements24 is seeking a specialised Facade Engineer to lead design, specification and oversight of building facade systems. You will ensure performance, durability and aesthetics across projects in Queenstown with emphasis on materials, weatherproofing and thermal performance.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized and experienced Facade Engineer to contribute to their innovative construction projects in Queenstown . You will be responsible for the design, specification, and oversight of building facade systems, ensuring their performance, durability, and aesthetic integration with the overall building design. This role requires a deep understanding of materials, structural principles, weatherproofing, and thermal performance related to building envelopes. You will collaborate closely with architects and other consultants to deliver high-quality facade solutions, addressing complex technical challenges and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards for projects in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer complex facade systems, including curtain walls, windows, and cladding.
• Prepare detailed specifications, drawings, and calculations for facade elements.
• Ensure facades meet performance requirements for weather resistance, thermal insulation, and acoustics.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors throughout the design and construction phases.
• Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and compliance with design intent.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and mock-ups for facade components.

Requirements

• Degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
