Job summary

Andrew's Trade Services seeks an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Swan Hill, VIC. This full-time role focuses on high-quality fabrication and agricultural maintenance, delivering reliable workmanship across on-site and workshop settings.

You will MIG, TIG and stick weld, fabricate components from drawings, operate plasma cutters and grinders, and ensure safety and accuracy in every job. A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or with a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Fabricator/Welder with multi-technique welding.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding using MIG, TIG and stick welding techniques.
• Fabricate metal structures per specifications and drawings.
• Operate plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches and grinders.
• Measure and mark materials to ensure precise dimensions.
• Inspect finished work for quality and adherence to specs.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep workspace clean and safe.
• Assist in other workshop and farm maintenance tasks.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Andrew's Trade Services is seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our growing team in Swan Hill, VIC. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your technical skills in a dynamic work environment. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality fabrication and agricultural maintenance services to our diverse customer base, contributing directly to the success and reputation of our business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Performing welding operations using various techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Fabricating metal structures and components according to specifications and technical drawings
• Operating cutting equipment such as plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches and angle grinders to prepare materials
• Measuring and marking materials accurately to ensure precise dimensions and fit
• Inspecting completed work to verify quality and adherence to specifications
• Maintaining and calibrating welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Keeping work areas, tools, equipment, and machines clean and organised
• Assisting in other areas of the business including general workshop, mechanics, and farm maintenance

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Fabricator/Welder
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG and stick welding
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
• Strong problem?solving skills with a resourceful approach
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship
• Physical fitness and ability to work in varying conditions
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Skills in agricultural maintenance and repair favourable but not essential

Licences and qualifications

• Licence to operate a forklift truck ticket, or willingness to obtain
• Conduct telescopic materials handler operations ticket, or willingness to obtain
• Work safely at heights ticket, or willingness to obtain
• Enter and work in confined spaces ticket, or willingness to obtain
