Job summary

Barwon Asset Solutions, based in Breakwater, Geelong, seeks an experienced Boilermaker/Fabrication specialist. You will weld stainless steel and aluminium, fabricate and install pipelines and equipment, and perform field maintenance alongside workshop tasks.

The role blends workshop and on-site duties, with an emphasis on quality and safety. Ongoing full-time hours with overtime opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Must be confident & very capable stainless steel and aluminium welder.
• Responsible for fabrication, installation, and maintenance of equipment and pipelines.
• Work in both workshop and field environments.
• General Boilermaker duties including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
• Maintenance and project work on assets.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fabrication/installations of pipeline specials and structural steel.
• Perform maintenance, breakdown repairs and preventive work.
• Read and follow design plans for fabrication.
• Work cooperatively with workshop and field teams.

• Over 30 years of experience delivering quality, multi-disciplined end-to-end project and maintenance works across the region.
• This role is based in Breakwater, Geelong.
• Must be confident & very capable stainless steel and aluminium welder!
• Responsible for the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment and pipelines including pumping stations, sewer and water treatment plants, pipelines, water fleet and plant.
• Assigned activities will be performed both in the workshop and in field-based environments.
• Responsible for the general fabrication/installations of pipeline specials, structural steel components along with project work.
• Carry out General Boilermaker duties including the use of welding (MIG, TIG, Stick)
• Responsible for the general Maintenance/installations/project work of assets and components.
• Carry out unplanned (breakdown) maintenance on failed, faulty, or damaged assets to achieve best practice.
• Work cooperatively with other teams within the business and workshop.

Successful candidates will have the following:

• Certificate III in Engineering E.g. Boilermaker
• High standard of work with attention to detail
• A recognised qualification in the safe operation of gantry, forklift, and truck-mounted cranes is desirable
• Competent in the use of computers
• Demonstrated experience of current and emerging technologies related to field maintenance services is desirable
• An understanding of industrial relations issues and a commitment to EEO and OH&S practices.
• Ability to read and follow design plans/sketches for fabrication.
