Job summary

Kotzur Group, a family-owned engineering and fabrication business, seeks a Welder/Fabricator to join their Production team at Walla Walla, 30 minutes from Albury. You will fabricate, weld and finish Kotzur products including silos and structural components.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, welding to standards, operating welding equipment and ensuring WHS compliance, with opportunities for overtime and career development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience fabricating and welding structural steel.
• Experience reading and applying workshop drawings, technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience working safely in a workshop or production environment in accordance with WHS requirements.
• Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication, trade qualified boilermaker/welder, or progressing toward this qualification.
• Current licences, tickets or site requirements relevant to the work area, where required by Kotzur.
• WHS training, inductions and competency requirements relevant to welding, fabrication, workshop equipment and PPE use.
• Safety conscious and disciplined in following WHS requirements.
• Reliable, accountable and able to work autonomously to quality standards and timelines.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel to required quality, safety and production standards
• Fabricate and assemble silo-related structures and components, including gantries, walkways and support structures
• Read and interpret workshop drawings, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and welding symbols to complete work accurately
• Operate, check and maintain welding machines, tools and equipment safely and efficiently, escalating issues when required
• Inspect welds and completed work for accuracy, finish and compliance with specifications and industry standards
• Follow WHS requirements, PPE expectations and safe work practices to minimise risk in welding and fabrication activities
• Work productively with other welders, fabricators, engineers and support teams to meet production timelines
• Contribute to workshop flexibility by completing miscellaneous tasks and reasonable overtime during busy periods

About the role

Are you a reliable Welder/Fabricator who takes pride in safe, accurate and high-quality workmanship?

Kotzur is seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join our Production team at Walla Walla, just 30 minutes from Albury.

In this hands-on role, you will fabricate, weld and finish Kotzur manufactured products, including silos, structural components, gantries, walkways and support structures.

What you'll be doing

Perform MIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel to required quality, safety and production standards

What we're looking for

Experience fabricating and welding structural steel

Experience reading and applying workshop drawings, technical drawings and welding symbols

Experience working safely in a workshop or production environment in accordance with WHS requirements

Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing on concrete for extended periods and working in standing, kneeling, squatting, bending and reaching positions

Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication, trade qualified boilermaker/welder, or progressing toward this qualification

Current licences, tickets or site requirements relevant to the work area, where required by Kotzur

WHS training, inductions and competency requirements relevant to welding, fabrication, workshop equipment and PPE use

Safety conscious and disciplined in following WHS requirements
