Job summary

Kotzur is seeking a capable and detail-oriented draftsperson to join our Storage and Projects Design Team, translating concept designs into detailed, shop floor drawings, BOMs and design documentation for manufacture and installation.

Based at our Walla Walla, NSW site (approximately 30 minutes from Albury), this role offers a stable, hands-on opportunity in a regional setting within a supportive design team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the same or similar design, drafting or engineering role.
• Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting or equivalent demonstrated drafting capability.
• Experience developing detailed designs and shop floor drawings for manufacturing, project or storage-related environments.
• Sound drafting and detailing capability, including drawing checks, BOM population and application of Kotzur drafting methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs from concept designs using Inventor, AutoCAD and related systems.
• Interpret design intent and ensure designs are functional, practical and compliant with relevant standards.
• Prepare shop floor drawings to the accuracy required for manufacture or execution, in line with Kotzur standards.
• Maintain design records, documentation and Design Team office protocols.
• Liaise with Design Team members, Production and Project Managers to support project requirements.
• Comply with safe work procedures, instructions and legislation to protect personal and team health and safety.

Kotzur is seeking a capable and detail-oriented draftsperson to join our Storage and Projects Design Team, supporting the delivery of accurate, practical and build-ready designs across a diverse range of customer projects.

This role is about translating concept designs into detailed drawings that work on the shop floor and on site. You will collaborate closely with the design team, engineers, production, and project managers to ensure designs are functional, compliant, safe and delivered to Kotzur standards.

About the role

Working within the Storage and Projects Team and reporting to the Team Leader: Storage and Projects, you will be responsible for translating concept designs into detailed designs, shop floor drawings, BOMs and design documentation for manufacture and installation.

Your focus will be on producing accurate documentation, maintaining design records and supporting project delivery through clear, well-structured drafting outputs across agricultural, commercial storage and handling, feedlot, mining and plastics projects.

What you’ll bring

• You are a practical, detail-focused draftsperson who takes pride in producing clear and accurate drawings and enjoys working in a collaborative, hands-on environment. We are looking for someone with sound drafting experience, mechanical aptitude and the ability to turn design intent into accurate documentation.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the same or similar design, drafting or engineering role
• Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting, trade qualification, relevant software training, or equivalent demonstrated drafting capability
• Experience developing detailed designs and shop floor drawings for manufacturing, project or storage-related environments
• Moderate working knowledge and application of Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault and M1
• An understanding of manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, materials and practical design requirements
• Sound drafting and detailing capability, including drawing checks, BOM population and application of Kotzur drafting methods
• Ability to apply Safety in Design principles and investigate technical queries using whole-of-business knowledge
