Job summary

Shellharbour City Council offers an Apprentice Fabricator role at the Oak Flats Services Depot. You will work with skilled tradespeople, performing workshop-based fabrication, maintenance and repair of fleet and equipment while pursuing a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade at North Wollongong TAFE.

Open to school leavers and those continuing the qualification, this program blends hands-on practice with structured training.

Qualifications

• Hands-on training in welding, cutting, shaping, assembling and repairing metal components.
• Willingness to learn across fabrication and maintenance tasks in a practical workshop.

Responsibilities

• Support workshop and fleet team with fabrication, welding and repair tasks.
• Develop skills in maintenance and modification of council equipment and assets.
• Complete Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade at North Wollongong TAFE while gaining on-the-job experience.
