Job summary

Shellharbour City Council is offering an Apprentice Fabricator position at the Oak Flats workshop. You will support the Workshop and Fleet Team while developing skills in fabrication, welding, maintenance and repair activities that keep our city running.

You will complete a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade at North Wollongong TAFE and gain hands-on experience. Open to school leavers and mature-age applicants, with opportunities to gain licences and competencies.

Qualifications

• Completion of Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade.
• Pre-placement medical examination is required.
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card) prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Assist workshop and Fleet Team with fabrication, welding, maintenance and repair tasks.
• Undertake workshop-based fabrication and repair of metal components.
• Contribute to upkeep and operation of council's fleet, plant and equipment while learning trade skills in a practical workshop.
